Finally, after many months of waiting, I got around to putting my 870 on paper.

First, was very interested in finding out how buckshot would pattern out of my 18" barrel with modified Rem Choke. I started at 30 yards (figuring that is a reasonable maximum distance before switching to slugs). I fired three rounds (and the resulting holes are labeled 1, 2, or 3).

Pretty clear I am patterning slightly to the right, but the pattern was (while aiming my shotgun) printing just around the diameter of my bead sight. Pretty cool.
I then wanted to see how slugs and birdshot would pattern at 30 yards. Yes, my target is horizontal, thats how I hung it. My 9 rounds of bird shot are clearly grouping a bit to the right, as well as my bench slug group (the lower one), and the off hand slug group (the one with proper elevation). All of these rounds were fired with me aiming at the Red dot.

Then, I moved the target to 7 yards, figuring thats as far as I would shoot my 870 inside the house. I then unloaded about 7 rounds of 00 buck.

Any violent intruders want to be transformed into swiss cheese? Thought not...
Any ways, had a great day at the range... and now I know to hold my shotgun a bit to the left, and to expect buckshot to group slightly larger than the diameter of my front bead.
