    Dis-information on Top Shot

I like the show but last night season 3, show 3 they said
" the Benelli M4 is the most powerful shotgun" and
" the M4 is the fsatest shooting shotgun.

I love my M4 but dont think either of these are the facts.

    Not FUD either.

FUD stands for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande.

Its all about creating "drama". IRT is just as bad now every episode they make it look like someone is in a wreck and then its just a near miss.
The pistol challenge at the end looked like fun but I'm terrible with a pistol. The junior olympian with a shotgun did horrendous and no one tried to boot him off. Its still better then sons of guns but it's a "meh" show.

If they had said "one of the..." that would have been better. The author of that episode was apparently a fanboy. No biggie!

Hey, it's all about entertainment. They gotta make it dramatic.

                  Both are total BS.

                  1. 12 gauge speed isn't really effected from gun to gun.
                  2. Fastest shooting is total crap, a U/O would theoretically shoot faster because you don't have to wait for the action to cycle.

Maybe not a fanboy but hyping up a sponsor.

Top Shot has a lot of aspects to it that don't exactly appeal to me. The military "raised" me on the concept that the target is merely a stand in for the man. That it is as much about the killing as the shooting. This show goes extremely far out of their way NOT to convey that concept. None of the targets are manshapped (that I have seen). They stress marksmanship and arcade style shooting. Not mention really goofy obstical challenges that have nothing to do with shooting. Basically it is the "American Gladiator" of shooting - less the spandex.

I am fine with mixing in historical firearms, but it would be much more intersting if the look and feel of the targets and challenges where in keeping with that history. Old west gun fighter or American revolutionary battle theme for example instead of arcade gallery.

Mostly I could do without the non-firearms.

All that said, I do enjoy most of the show. It is watchable. I just have to be in the mood for it. Being that I am a complete and utter gun nut, that's not good. Because I am always in the mood to watch stuff about guns. So if they don't have me itching for the next episode, then they are clearly missing a decent segment of what should be a built in audience.

Don't forget the Glock 34. They failed to mention that it was a Salient build that adds $800-$1800 to the cost of a stock G34

In the hands of a GM shooter, XXX is the fastest XXX in the world... and Taran Butler is no slouch.. I'd like to see Jerry M on the show and have them shooting souped up open 627's..
