    Are Bandoliers Impractical

Just curious on your take on using a bandolier for shotgun ammunition carry. Is it impractical? I hear various arguments on both sides of the fence. What do you all think? It seems practical to me because its out of the way of other gear and seems pretty quick to reload. I could imagine it swinging around during a dynamic situation, but since I have no experience, everything I know is purely speculation. Would it be good for a shotgun class? Let me hear your thoughts on the subject. Thanks.

Not practical to feed from during a fire fight, there are various Kydex type belt feeders for that. But they make transporting ammo easier when on foot.

I was never a fan but it looks cool to have. I wouldn't use them. pockets work just as well.

Looks cool, but not all that useful id say. Those butt holders are cool cuz they hold a few rounds right there where you can get at it, but in the end nothing is gonna beat a cargo pocket full of shells.

I would say shot-shell carriers are more practical.

Shotshell carriers are good too. I have 7, CCW 4 rounders. They do take up alot of realestate on the belt though
I got the chest rig for training class'

Bandoliers and Web Gear Shell Holders are Both Good

I use bandoliers for 12 gauge and 410 bore for hunting. It is nice to simply pick up a loaded bandolier and head out to the field for a hunt.

Web gear shell holders are just as easy to grab and put on as you head out for the field.

One method I use is an old surplus shoulder bag with a ziploc bag on the inside for protection from moisture.

It isn't too pretty but it is functional, and you can hold a lot of ammo.

plus you save room on the belt for other stuff.
It isn't the size of your hallway howitzer,it's how you use it.

That rig is from Orgional S.O.E. Gear

The tags have changed and the name is a little different, but the more things change, the more things stay the same. Original S.O.E. Gear has always been -- and remains -- committed to producing the finest tactical gear available, at a fair price.

Nice looking rig. Good review on youtube.

Bandoliers are cool, especially when you criss-cross them

I bought the sling/bandoleer. Its a sling that holds 15 rounds too. This will add weight to the setup and from what I have read extra momentum when trying to quick aim or move between targets so maybe a "firefight" scenario wouldn't be the best for it but being able to kill two birds with one stone will work for me
