Just bought the Browning Citori Lighting! Need a case!

    Title says it all!

I went to Turners in FV and bought the Browning Citori Lighting they had on sale yesterday! So stoked! Cant wait to get it!!!

I was talking to the salesman and he said it comes in a cardboard box! So I am in need of a case! I looked on the Browning website and they are well over $200 for a nice hard case! I got to thinking I might as well buy a Pelican case for that price! Any downsides to the Pelican case for the Shotgun?

Can anyone help me out with maybe where to buy a nice, hard shotgun case?? Or maybe someone knows a place to get a decent deal on a Pelican?

Thanks for any help fellow CGers!!!

i'd say look at plano as an alternative, if you dont have enough coin for Pelican. I have two plano cases that have both my sx3's and they're awesome (comes with velco straps to secure it in place) and huge! (accomodates 30" shotgun)

        Glock,

I just looked up Turners ad........Does your Lightning have 3 1/2" chambers? Or is it a Satin Hunter?

I would be interested to know what the label on the box is marked.

Would you be willing to post or PM me the info on the box label?

What do you need this case to do? $200 seems ridiculous for a shotgun case. Unless you need to fly. But transporting a shotgun to the field all the time in a heavy (and bulky) hard case would be a real pain in the ***.

Ya that's what I'm sayin! I totally agree!! Its a total rip off!! I never knew how much a damn shotgun case would cost! Jokingly I told the guy at Turners that I should of bought a Beretta since it comes with a case! I was at the store today and saw a Boyt soft O/U case that was made really nice.....ya still $125 bucks!!

              No pics?! I am disappoint...

LOL, j/k. They're beautiful guns. They also shoot extremely well; I've shot some of my best rounds of trap with my dad's Citori.

I just put the SKB on my watch list!! I went to Turners today and saw that case and kinda liked it. They put the Citori in there and it fit like a glove. I just may be buying that one on ebay!! Thank You!!!

lol I recently just bought a Citori White lightning too and was wondering the same thing. I think BJ gave me the good advice of just sticking it in a cheap regular case. No need for a fancy case.

By the way I was wondering why it was chambered in 3 1/2". Only lightning I saw on browning's site was the 3" which is the one I got

Try Bass Pro. I'm pretty sure I saw the fitted Browning cases there.

You should be able to find the Boyt soft breakdown case for less than $100.

But consider this, you just bought a $1,000 shotgun. Do you really want to skimp on a case?

My soft case was over $100, my hard case was over $300, my shotgun was over $2500.

$400 seems cheap to protect $2500.

Everyone seems to be wondering why it is a 3 1/2 chambered, Maybe the Turners add is a typo? I will have to see for myself when I get it in hand!
