    Molot Vepr 12

I am excited , just got off the phone with the Molot Factory! Looks like there is a US model of the Vepr 12 coming... and they don't mind sending the correct parts to restore them to the correct configuration!

Nice this will give the saiga a run for there money, I hope the shops with inflated saigas on the wall get it stuck to them.

They are separate and competing divisions under Izhmash ownership. Sorta like GM brands. The Vepr 12 is identical to Siaga 12 Swat aside from a different receiver style. Either way BATF is holding up the shipments of rifles to two importers until at least Sept.. I used my russian speaking skills to get the info from the factory..

That's right, two sub-brands under Izhmash. Both make AK based rifles. Veprs are popular hunting weapons.

Its a good looking semi conversion of a Saiga.

I saw these Vepr12's in a gun magazine when I was in Germany. It was all angled towards police, but seemed you could buy the gun with the magwell and short barrel from the factory.

Agh, this land ain't free anymore.

I am going to order one once they show up and get the rest of the parts from the factory to restore its original config

Are the Saiga-12 magazines compatible with the VEPR?

Yes from what I understand they are, but interestingly you can't use Vepr mags in a Saiga due to different feed lips.. No way to anyone to test it until some show up.
