870 Magnum vs. Benelli Nova?

Big 5 has an 870 Magnum, not an Express, for about 420. Looks parkerized though I'm not sure if it is. Turners has a Benelli Nova for about the same.
I'm looking for a HD shotgun that is somewhat rust resistant since my hiding spot is near a bathroom.

What do ya think?

I've had both and currently have the Nova with the 18inch barrel. Both are reliable...the benelli came with ghost ring sights...I put a mag tube extension on it and a limb saver....great zombie gun!

Just curious, Other than CH-47 how many of you have had experience with both shotguns. Not just holding them, I mean actual running them, say 250 rounds worth.
I have come to the conclusion that most, not all, will recommend the product that THEY have, and all others are some how inferior. If you like one this, over one that. Then give reasons why, this one is better than that one because, blah,blah,blah.

I have, and far more than 250 rounds.
My Benelli has let me down, my 870 only a few extraction issues when it was new, basically very hard to open the action on 3-4 rounds. After a few hundred went through it I've never had any problems since.

Benelli Nova is not the Benelli Super Nova

I have extensive experience with the Super Nova. Once it is broken in, it is great. Being able to remove the trigger group allows you to easily wash out particles that can cause the safety, trigger, and slide to function roughly.

From what I understand the Nova's action is fixed to the stock so cleaning the action may not be easy.

Some of the fastest shooting possible is by point shooting with a shotgun. You can learn to point shoot with any shotgun; get one and start to become amazed at what is possible.

The Nova breaks down the same as the supernova, the stock and reciever are all one piece though.

Does the Nova's lifter stay in the up position while reloading. If so, then that would be one up on the 870.

OP, do you mean the 870 super Magnum, the 3.5" ?

I really like the 870 express magnum, but I haven't been able to get my super magnum to feed reliably.

If you want 3.5" I'd go with the nova.

For me the nova fore-arm feels a bit to large in my hands.

I'm not sure if it's the super magnum. I know it's parkerized, so it can't be the Express.
