Can you mod a Rem 1100 fixed to threaded?

Can a Remington 1100 12g, fixed choke (modified) barrel be smithed to accept threaded chokes?

I'm thinking there may not be enough material on the muzzle barrel to accept threads. Thanks all!

Briley will install their excellent Thinwall choke tubes, but the price for their install is $199 + s/h w/ 3 (maybe 5) choke tubes. These are top notch and many competitors use them in their fancied up 1100s...

I would tell you to just look online and buy a Remmy choke tube equipped barrel tho ... or you can have a good gunsmith ream out the choke at the end for $50 if skeet is all you want to do for now.

I found some threaded barrels but they're about $200/$220, ususally comes with three chokes. That's why I'm thinkning of just having a smith thread the muzzle.

But you have to factor in selling your existing barrel to cover part of the cost of the new barrel!!

Go to www.Briley.com and look around in there a little. See if thats what you were thinking of.

Briley FTW. At least that's the way I'd go. Great work and their choke tubes are top shelf.
