One point not yet mentioned is that unlike Remingtons Mossbergs have the safety up on the tang/backslope of the receiver.
This makes it next to impossible to engage/disengage the safety without severely changing or even removing your grip.

That is part of why my Mossy had the pistol grip ATI stock removed and the stock one put back on.

I want the ATI top folding stock not because it will give me some sort of advantage while firing or loading, I want it because it will be smaller and theres also that certain degree of tacticoolness.

Sure, advantages of a pump shotgun are that you basically lose your ability to fire any truly aimed shots and it is more difficult to control when firing.

The only true benefit to a pistol-gripped shottie is that it is more compact, but PG-shotties are usually only used for breaching tools (blowing the locks & hinges off of doors and shooting trap, bad guys and the breeze).

If this gun is to be used for home defense, definitely keep the full stock on there???

Who aims a shotgun? We merely point, it ain't a rifle. Who aims when bird hunting? We POINT.

Compact with a pistol grip, therefore leave it on in home defense. Ever tried to wield a full stocked shotgun in a bathroom or hallway? Probably not, just try it with your house-broom, it don't work.

An 'Improved" cylinder shotgun (tactical models) spreads the 'shot' to 42" inside of 25 yards, just point it in the general vicinity of your target in the home and squeeze.

If it hurts your wrist, you're doing it wrong! Get training. Keep the PG.

I shoot trap with a tac 500, without aiming! Go here.... One of my class shoots. Note shooting a pistol grip shotty from the hip and no aiming. Stay with the PG.

After my trip to the range today I learned ...With a shottie... You only have to be close. LOL

We were actually shooting at 40 yards (alot farther then any HD situation), but I saw an about 4-6 foot spread with a 18.5 inch barrel and birdshot

That's why i'm going to retire my FN Police Shotgun with a KNOXX specops pistol grip stock and get me some Mossberg deliciousness from Vang Comp.

I'll stick a compstock on it and I'll get my ambi safety and a recoil reducing stock.
