Is my Mossberg 500 threaded for chokes?

    I have this model:

Model 500 Persuader 8 shot 20in barrel bead sight.

I've looked through the barrel and I don't see any threads. However according to the Mossberg spec it says "cylinder bore" under chokes. Does anyone know if I can just buy a screw in choke for it like the ones from Brownells?

My guess is no! If there are choke tubes you'll see 2 or 4 little notches where a choke wrench can screw the choke tubes on/off.

That model does not use chokes, a barrel set up for chokes would have visible threads.

      Cylinder bore means no choke.

A little info on SG's. some graphic pics.

as mentioned, it doesn't have removable chokes. but, that doesn't mean that you can't have it threaded so that you can use removable choles.

It's often cheaper just to get a second barrel, but since the OP's gun is a Persuader then having it threaded may just be the best solution.

right, because Mossberg doesn't normally offer "sporting" barrels that are set up with the mag lug in the right spot for >5-round mag tubes.
