Mossberg 500 Cruiser for me...... Pistol grip only because its for HD and close courters, not for precision on the dot shots.

Congrats on your new Mossberg.... Awesome shotguns.

Pistol grips aren't bad as long as you stick with light loads. I have a Maverick with a pistol grip and I load it with #7s or 8s for home defense. I don't care what opinions others may have, those loads have more stopping power than any 357 magnum within the confines of my house. I don't have to worry about over penetration either.

I've had a mariner for about 15 years and really like it. The marinecote, IIRC, is a combo of nickel and teflon. The mc has been extremely durable. I like that the mc is on all metal surfaces of the gun, inside and out.

Of course, the mc is designed to stand-up to salt-spray, so it would make a great outdoors/camping SG.

I've kept the standard stock on mine as well...that PG looks cool in pictures, but man is it hard on your hands!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                Come on...what harm??
