I broke mine out at a sporting clays match, you should have seen the looks. What was funny was guys with $10,000 over/unders asking me if they could try it.

My 870 has all the goodies but I still use it to shoot skeet all the time!

What? No selection for hunting? I use my shotguns alot for trap and skeet and just recently purchased this benelli SuperNova for this hunting season.

I enjoy hunting ducks, geese, doves, quail, rabbit, squirrel, and have been playing with the idea of hunting pigs with slugs recently. Shotguns are the ultimate multipurpose hunting gun.

I use mine for shooting clays. Shouldn't hunting be on your list of things-to-do with a shotgun?

Hey everyone, just got here and saw this shotgun dealie, so I thought I'd chime in...

Right now, my shotgun is a Mossberg 590 Persuader. 12-gauge, all-steel receiver, top tang safety, trigger housing and heavy 20" barrel, bayo lug, rubber recoil pad, ghost-ring sight with red ramp, synth stock and forearm, cylinder bore (no chokes, please), and up to 3" chambering. I have 50 shells on hand at all times, 25 of which are Remington Reduced-Recoil 8-pellet 00 Buck (say that 5 times fast), and 25 of which are a mix Rem/Federal hollowpoint Foster-type rifled slugs. The rubber pad cuts recoil but good with the Fosters, and the ghost-ring is a Godsend for extended ranges. Overall, I'm very impressed with my humble Mossy and it's gonna stay for a while.

                      M1014.

I use it to make target materials dissappear. I don't like rifles for HD, eaiser to navigate hallways with a good handgun. In a SHTF scenario, I'd definately have it slung over my back.

I am wondering if this would apply to most aluminum (Mossberg 500) shotgun receivers out there using a fully loaded sidesaddle. I guess the guns recoil would cause the pins to push forward with the extra weight on each shot, eventually causing deformation of the pin hole. Yet, I notice alot of people use these "side saddles" and nobody until now has mentioned it. Any ideas?

                          Uhhh.... +1.

I did better with the M3 w/ ghostring sights than I did with my 28" Wingmaster!

To the question, I tend to use my shotguns mainly for clay shooting, particularly trap. My 18" Wingmaster stays home for HD duty. I don't do much shotgunning though.

We need to get out to the... umm... spot and do some more shooting.
