Inexpensive Over Under 20 gauge

Will soon be in the market for a new or used 20 gauge OU shotgun. My price range will be under $500, so there are not many choices (that's why I mentioned used as well as new). I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions on lower end OU. It has been suggested that I consider the Tristar brand which is made in Turkey. I'm even openminded to a .410 OU if one can be found. Afte 20+ years of hunting club bird pheasants, I'm looking for more of a challenge than the many 12 gauge shotguns I have provide. I have a single shot .410 that is a real challenge, but my dog get's ticked off when I miss!

If it's a challenge that you want, why not load the 12 to 20 gauge ballistics... there are loads out there for 7/8 and as light as 3/4 oz loads..

410s are fun on club birds. It is all I use and has the added benefit of fewer pellets to mess up the meat. I do get the occasional rolled eyes from my dogs though.

look at mossberg silver reserve, some of their 20 28 gauge convertible o/u's you can find these under $600 used sometimes get two gauges cheap

tristar makes a 20 28 combo too

I shoot a 28 ga at upland birds and occaisionally a 410, 410 is a challenge when it's windy

The chamber adapters are good for occasional shooting. They are not for skeet/trap/sporting clays on a extended basis. I have heard of people using them with pretty good results but in the long run they don't hold up.
But if you're talking about sub-gauge tubes, those are a different story!

CDNN has CZ O/U's (if you can follow all of those acronyms haha) in 20g for a great price. They're made by Huglu in Turkey and people definitely like them. Great looking guns. CDNN also carries Lanber, and I just picked up a 2087 in 12 gauge. Not sure if they had 20g Lanbers... Lanber's one of the very most popular gun brands in the UK and Australia. They're extremely reliable, look good, shoot well... Usually about $900+ but CDNN has them starting at $459...
