Skeet Clinic for 5/1 was great!!

I went off to work and left 6 guys behind with the coach, I hope coach didn't beat them up too badly!!!

This is the best clinic we've had in a while. It was sunny and NO wind at all. The guys all learned the basics when I bailed on them and seems to be having fun. One of these days I will stay around long enough to see the second part of the clinic. I think after lunch is the fun part because the guys should pretty much know all the basics. They could let loose and shoot some doubles and stuff.

I hope they all had a good time with the skeet clinics I try to put up. My whole thing with the skeet clinics is to get more people involve in the sporting shotgun part of shooting. I know most Calgunners know ARs, AKs, Glocks and such. The clinic is designed to add the knowledge of sporting shotgun & make a better all around shooter out of all Calgunners. I hope its working!!

Thank you for putting on the clinic. Learned lots from Coach and you. Hope to be in another clinic in the near future.

              ^ Who's who? =]
I have to say, it's sooo much more gratifying seeing that clay break(especially doubles, wow!) than it is knowing your made it in the bull's eye ten shots later. It was also hard trying to stop shooting like a rifleman and not aim at the bird. Oh and not shooting "isosceles" and shifting my weight onto one leg. I'll definitely be back and will bring my pal who shoots Trap.

After I remembered, I snapped a few photos with my phone but left out one Cal Gunner since I was on deck(This was during the 2nd half):

I forget my phone is capable of nice lookin' pictures! Hey BJ, we didn't talk about shotgun buying! Man, pump shotguns would be pretty tough in the beginning with those doubles.

First, thanks to Jordon and Coach Z for putting these classes together . I don't think you'll get more 'bang for your buck' with anyone else. Considering the class was nearing the six hour mark, the twenty dollar fee is miniscule for the amount of info to be absorbed. Thanks again, I am looking forward to another class soon.

Second, Triple B's is a great facility for shooting all sorts of clays. I'm a shotgun noob, so I had never been to this type of 'range' before. Lots of room to shoot and the food wasn't half bad either. I want to try the golf cart skeet next time!

Lastly, the weather was just about perfect which made the day that much better. It was a touch warmer than I would have liked, but I guess I can't have everything! I gotta say, skeet is much more difficult than it looks...one more thing KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BIRD!!!

                Crappy cell phone pics:

Ok you rifle shooters...quit looking down the barrel...you will miss every time! Shoot a quarter inch in front of the bird.

                I said a quarter...that wasn't a quarter was it?

Does this barrel look bent? Great weather...

                Bend your knee!

Here's me. Ahhh..you're chasing it again!

Next time...NO MERCY FOR THOSE CLAYS!!!

I'm looking at a few auto-loaders right now although I'm really price conscious:

                    *CZ: 712, 720, 912 (Greattt prices)
                    Mallard 104 A (over/under)
                    *Franchi I-12(or 712)
                    *Stoeger M2000
                    *Beretta 3901

I actually like the Remington 1100s. A used skeet gun can be had for less then 500 bones.
The Stoeger M2000 ain't too bad from what i hear. They run on the Benneli inertia system.
The Beretta 3901 is an offshoot of the original 390 and I hear they are pretty good as well.
A used Browning Citori w/ fixed skeet chokes are not that expensive. I've seen'em for less then a Gee!! Stay away from inexpensive O/Us, not because they are bad. If you really get hooked to skeet like I did then the inexpensive guns won't last. They weren't build with tens of thousands of rounds in mind!!
