mossberg 930 home defense model

i am sort of recoil senitive to 12g shotguns but not rifles. i want a semi auto mossberg 930, but they are a little pricey. is there a way to greatly minimize the recoil on a pump 12g, ie mossberg 500,590, or rem 870? some sort of ultra recoil reducing pad?

Kinda wondering how a $599 auto loading shotgun is expensive? How many cheaper auto loaders are there? and that are worth defending your life with? Most of the other home defense auto loaders from Beneli, FN, and Berreta, cost over $1k.. just saying. Even the remington is more expensive. The cheapest decent auto loader I know of is the CZ 712, which has less features. The MSRP is around $490.

I called LimbSaver and they told me they're working on a pad for 930spx. There isnt one that would work one the 930spx right now...

For $22 you can get a SuperCell Recoil reducing pad from Remington for the 870 that does a great job. I don't think it added to the LOP. Also there is nothing wrong with a used semi if you look around.

Stock lenght will also affect felt recoil. Too long, more "pocket" collapse = more discomfort. Placing the SG in the right place, proper length of pull and no fancy stocks are actually needed even with smaller framed shooters and extended shooting sessions.
Most SG shooters place the buttstock on the shoulder muscle and not in the sub-clavian pocket. Unless you have a medical condition or previous shoulder injury, SG shooting can be done painlessly without after market gadgets. But it does take training, not equipment to do this and people are lazy in general and would rather buy a gadget than to learn the proper way of doing things and that's what makes life interesting.
Adjustable stocks have the advantage of fitting more than one shooter in an household, so the 590 as pictured should be just fine.

I'm not a big pistol grip fan, and that stock is kinda fugly. Have you looked at the 930 Security. Its a stripped down version of the the one you are interested in.

Anyone who buys a used Mossy 590 should IMMEDIATELY check the mag spring. Mine gave severe feeding problems and would kink every time.
I replaced it with a Wolff spring and have had no more problems.
The shop I bought the 590 from failed to mention this widespread problem. I will not buy there again.

You are assuming, that the shop knew about the problem. Seems like a minor issue to hold against them.

I just picked up the mossberg 930spx. First thing I did was pull it apart to see how the piston system works. I get the piston assembly but I dont see how the bolt/carrier is any different from a blow back design. ie. my Binelli M4 has a rotating bolt that locks it to the barrel extension until the piston moves the carrier back at which time it unlocks the bolt.
The SPX has not locking bolt. Is there another mechanism that locks the bolt/carrier until the piston acts on carrier assembly?
