Keltec Bullpup = CA State Restriction?

I have been trying to get my local FFL to lock on of these down for me. He called his rep today who said that they have them on order, but there is a state restriction on them?

Both of us were confused and we both agree it meets the requirements to be CA legal AND that the state out of no where can restrict a specific long-gun.

So what gives? Is this a possibly a distributor restriction until the shotgun gets an ok to come into state? FUD?

I really want one of these and both myself and FFL are trying to get them.

Could be due to the 14 round capacity.

I'd think, largely, FUD. I have a hunch that like so many other things that are cool or kind of out on the leading edge technology wise that there are some distributors / FFLs who are not going to want to try bringing it into California. There are a number FFLs who will, and they are taking pre-orders.

Cheaper than Dirt wont ship a pistol grip to California. Just because something is legal does not automatically mean that every distributor out there will ship it to us. Also, any vendor that is taking a pre-order I would consider the price a down payment. As far as i know final pricing of this firearm has yet to be announced.

Price from what my buddies FFL distributor told him was $850.

Yes, the distributor rep said restricted. I don't think she knew what she was talking about since she mentioned it not being on a "list".

My FFL and I didn't know what she was talking about because the only list is the handgun roster.

So if it's state restricted as part of the distributors policy, is there a way around that? How else can my FFL buy then wholesale?

like previous poster said. I was in Turner last week, and they are taking pre-order at $700ish.

i believe the kel-tec bypasses california law by using two 7 round magazine tubes. spoke to someone at turners and a kel-tec rep told them the shotguns are g2g for california due to the construction of the firearm.

Patiently waiting to get one myself. Hopefully, our wonderful state doesn't go out of their way to find/fabricate/make it impossible for us to get one here.

Can I just call them up and put down a credit card payment, or do I have to go to the store? I assume this is good at any location.

I just got an email today from an out of state distributor that said "Because of the 14rd capacity it doesn't meet the ATF laws for your state." I've got 6 buddies here at work that are trying to get in on a group buy and we can't find anything solid.

Does anyone know when this thing is going to become availible?
