If you are anywhere near the North Bay, talk to Wael at Independence Armory. He does good work, is parking a pretty beat up old Remington bolt action rifle for me now, and his prices won't kill your budget.

A quick, light wipe down with CLP or WD-40 after cleaning has always worked very well for me, and I've lived my entire life 20 miles or less from the ocean. But once a persistent rust problem starts it needs to be dealt with aggressively.

I might just get it parkerized. What does it look like when done. This is not a tactical shotgun it is a trap gun.

Parkerizing is a dull grey finish, another option if you want to give it a cool look is DuraCoat. Check out this site.

You can have it DuraCoated in pretty much any color/camo pattern you want and is pretty reasonable. If you put nutnfancy in the discount box should save you 10%.

Parkerizing can be grey, greenish or black, depending on the chemicals used. It makes a very good base for Duracoating.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Parkerize then Duracoat = end of rust.
