YOu can have a fixed 20-round mag on an S-12 without violating the shotgun AW regs.
    cool thanks!

I would probably attend this event, but where do you guys recommend I get the gun/parts? (I do not have a Saiga 12, but want one!)

Im also very interested. We should perhaps do it at the very beginning of March. That way everyone has time to get their stuff out of jail, shoot it in its unmodified condition; and determine if any cycling issues are present.

Then we all need to gather funds, research/order parts, wait on shipping, plan the event, etc.

I took a look at the SD AK build party. Very cool! I had no idea people were organizing like that. It looks like its already full though, and it would probably be better to just have one for Saiga 12's only. We need to put someone in charge of our build party so it can be just as awesome.

        Who's volunteering???

                  I'm very interested.

I have plans for my S12. I've laid these plans out in question form at two different gun shops and didn't get a straight answer as to "legal-ness" of said modifications.

Maybe you guys can answer them here. Or, I can wait for some face to face (read that as - hold my hand and explain it to my like I'm four years old) time... haha

Right now, she is stock and has the "fixed mag".

                  My plan is to add/convert:

telescoping M4 style stock with recoil compensation,
                  ergo pistol grip,
                  4 rail front hand guard,
front vertical grip with built in flashlight

                  Possible later additions:
                  holographic sight (Eotech or wannabEOTECH)

Also, the barrel is threaded... has anyone seen any options for this? a nice choke/flash suppressor?

Lastly, I'm located in San Diego but am more than willing to travel for some professional assistance in this conversion. Cash and/or beer/food is gladly given for said guidance/supervision.

saiga 12's must ALWAYS have a fixed mag

you should all get you conversion parts from AK-BUILDER.com

carolina is awesome for aftermarket parts
but you will save some money buying from ak-builder

                          ShadyJeff,

I love your idea about doing it at your shop. How many people can you accommodate and when would you like to do it?

I also think Carolina SS is the best place to get your parts. Iv priced the conversion to cost about 300 with a Tromix stock (w/ limb saver and cheek rest). Then don't forget about getting yourself a new BB for the conversion too.
