    Salient Benellis

Salient Arms International out of Oxnard (soon to move to Simi Valley, I hope) had their full line of custom guns at the SHOT Show including their 21 1/2 inch Benelli that is the same model they make for champ three gunner Taran Butler --

Includes extended mag tube, relived ejection and loading ports, fluted bolt, new sights and a trigger job.

Picking my Salient up Monday from my FFL.
These shotguns are unbelievable, been shooting a friends he got back in November.
Had to have one. Very light and it does kick, but very fast. Sorry Rem 1100CM you failed me too many times.
My Salient is a month late, I guess Pop Tart Sprinkle (the model with my shotgun) had to have it for the picture.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

Would be interesting to compare it to my Benny-ified M2

Gose, Chivas and I will have them at the NCPS 3G Rematch next Sunday.
You are more than welcome to take a look. I have not looked at a Benny-ified M2 to compare. Another shooter just got a 21" M2, had a real hard time finding the 21" and is planning to send his to Benny. I almost bought a 930 Mossberg from Benny and was waiting for the FN SLP with the pistol grip to come out, but after shooting the Salient could not resist. Outerlimits just ordered a open 930 from Benny and should have his for SMM3G.
Maybe after the match we can all compare them.
Yea, Pop Tart gets all the gear first! LOL. Being a friend of Taran has some perks. LOL! Lot of pictures of her with the Salient guns, pistols and an AR on Taran's Face Book page. Really great pictures.

Cool, I'll try to hook up with you next weekend then.
Im guessing the difference between the two is more or less negligible, but otoh, so is the price...

Actually, the price total on the Salient was a little cheaper than Benny. He does not weld up the lifter and you would have to send it to C-Rums. Salient does some I-Bond treatment to the bolt. Benny and Salient were within $100.00 but the Salient is ready to run when you get it, except for any slug sights you want to mount (Williams for mine) or a 3Gun Gear Side Saddle or the Nordic charging handle. Plus Benny does not have Pop Tart Sprinkle posing with his M2 or his 930 Mossberg! LOL! Hope to see you next Sunday.

By "Pop-Tart"...do you mean young Cindy Lauper above...or are you talking about "Pop-Tart Taran"? Ha ha.

                  Yea...that Salient Arms is a sweet-looking shotgun.

I always thought it was much more expensive that a tricked-out Benny shotgun.

Looking forward to seeing you knock the steel plates into orbit with your Salient, Randy!!!

                        esskay,
WIlliams Universal Vent Rib Slugger Fire Sights, their web site has pictures.
You just bolt the front and rear to the vent rib, rear is adjustable, very, very small bolts and nuts. Great for slug stages. 75 yard shots on a Larue target are not a problem.
Plus it gives me a better cheek weld and line of sight, Williams are higher. Stock beads are too low for me and I strain to get my eye low enough to see the stock bead. I put the Williams on my 1100 CM and loved them, ran them for 7 years. Well worth the $30.
                        Especially with my older eyes.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

For sights, all you need is a FO front and the flip up blade off of a 10/22 milled into the rib.

Nice blaster Randy. Taran keeps telling me to find a new bolt for my Benny M2, but it runs all day and SMOKES my 1100. Might have to come out next weekend just to play with your shotgun (as it'll be less beat than when I shot Taran's).

If you're sighting with your shotgun youre doing it all wrong

I have a Marble front sight and 10/22 rear. The front is fairly tall, but as I'm getting better at the "point, dont aim your shotgun", it bothers me less and less...

To be honest, as gose pointed out, for up close clays and steel, point it.
For the slug stages out to 75 yards, I do aim it. The Williams Sights just allow me to see the front sight at a better cheek weld for me, it points more naturally.
At least with the M2 comfort tech stock, it does offer you the options of changing the cheek weld height by changing an insert, not cheap, $100, also the recoil pad can be changed out to change the LOP up to an 1", another $100. Two nice features that my Remington 1100CM did not offer.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting
