It's okay to be 18 and broke. Doesn't make you an expert though.Oh, have you done a study on the reliability of a 590 vs a 500?...NOT! The 500 is the do it all, will last forever shotgun. Its cheap, versatile if you get the 18.5" & 28" combo and doesn't care if you don't clean it, but you should.
The 590 is a marketing gimmick to charge more for the same gun.
If you want to pay more...DON'T. Buy more shells. Unless you plan to hunt and use magnum shells then don't bother with the Knoxx stock. Nothing is more annoying than a shotgun sliding back and forth across your face.
If you shoot at clays the loads are light and you will only have a sore shoulder at the end of the day not a bruised face :-)It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.Comment

Enjoy your 500. I have one passed to me from my Grandfather which was made in 1968. I have a 28" for trap & birds, a 20" rifled slug with scope for hunting & an 18.5" for home defense. I highly suggest a shotgun as a great versitile long gun.Comment

While GLOCKS are fine weapons they're not for everyone. When i decided to thin out the herd it never even entered my mind to sell my 17, 23 or 30. My 26 and 27? They now reside in someone else's safe. They just didn't fit me and had become safe queens. So down the road they went.Comment

Yes. You have the fever now! I started with a 12 gauge and then a 10/22, Mosin, and now a Yugo SKS. Next will be a handgun. It's too late and you won't be able to stop. Be safe and have fun. It's only money. Right?Comment
