Mossberg 500 2 barrels is a good choice for the price.

However, I prefer to have a dedicated shotgun for home defense. My HD gun is an 590 with a surefire forend and knoxx spec ops folding stock, sidesaddle. Sure I might be able to shoot clays with it but its no way ideal, (short barrel, cylinder bore) I really don't want to have to pull my HD gun apart and put it back together every time I take it out to the range. (IMO all HD guns need some sort of light option)

So its nice to have 2 guns if possible. Maybe the mossberg 500 presuader or 590 for HD.

    And something like a 870 20ga with a 28" barrel or a nice O/U for skeet,trap,clays, hunting ect.

    Thats how I do it.

Clay and HD? The Big5 Mossberg combo sounds like the ticket.

The Mossberg is a good gun. I would also look at the Remington 870. Big5 quite often have them around the same price.
