Good choice for my first shotgun ?

Looking for a decent, quality, inexpensive shotgun for clay and home defense. This gun is within my budget, and I know that Mossberg is a reputable brand. Is this a gun that I can add accessories to or just a good, solid first shotgun ? Thanks for your help.

ok... There isn't a model # to the gun listed....is this a 500 model ? Big 5 is crap when it comes to identifying by model number. But...good to hear that a mossberg can handle that many rounds without incident....

Mossberg is a great company chief...and yes the 500 has been around forever and has proven itself as a great HD, hunting, skeet gun. You cannot go wrong w/ it. The thumb safety is great for the no light HD scenario.

Yes, you can buy a great deal of third party parts for a Mossberg.

Good to go. If u want plain black, it goes for around 80 less FYI. Also, if the sale is over just ask the manager to honor the price. 9 outta 10 will do it for you. Hope this helps.

I'll give my blessing on that Mossberg 500 combo. Great setup with all around versatility and it'll last a long time.

Wait for the Mossy combo with the two different barrels. They are on sale all the time. This will give you the versatility of a shorter home defense setup and a skeet shooting/hunting setup.

If you are on a budget, you can always opt for the Remy 870 Express or the Interstate Hawk 982.

Looks like a decent setup for your entry into the world of shotguns.

590+specops stock and a holosight and your good to go! nothing like reliablity and comfort as far as shotguns go.

For the same price you can get the Benelli Nova.

A Mossberg 500 was my first shotgun. It's 25 years old and still kicks butt
