lever action shotguns- your thoughts?

I've been fascinated by them for years but never gained substance looking into and possibly purchasing one until recently. There were only two companies that I was aware of producing Winchester lever action type replicas in 12 gauge, one was I believe Norinco and can't off the top of my head remember the other. What company currently has them in production or possibly older models out there that are out of production? Reliability and function would be my main concern along with operating with modern 00 bux, possibly slugs, without concern. I would think a reliably operating lever action 12 gauge shotgun could possibly be placed as a corner piece for HD which I already have a few for that role already so that is a non concern at this time. Would be a fun piece to bring to range once in a while so not sure how much I am willing to spend especially if prices doesn't fit the role and purpose I intend for it... Just another toy to try out I suppose and decide from there hehehe... Any thoughts and concerns would be appreciated since I have no real life experience on this subject to begin with... Thanks!

I am with you on wanting to get a lever action shotgun. I want one in .410!! I had the opportunity to get either a 357mag or a .410, sadly i choose 357...... Ohh well, one day I will have my shotty in lever/.410.

Marlin makes great lever action rifles, buddy has one in .30.30 its a great compact reliable firearm.

Interstate(Norinco) makes new lever action 12s as well as Uberti(pedersoli)
Uberti is by far the superior gun in terms of fit finish and reliability, but ive heard plenty of good things about the Norinco

Damn, that model 87 replica has me drooling a bit. Have you purchased on of them? I am not familiar with Coyote Cap though so will look more into them. I won't be making any new firearms purchases until after xmas season anyways. Thanks!

I am fortunate enough to proudly own two lever shotguns. The Winchester 1887 is an original from 1887. It is a lot of fun to shoot and always turns heads when I'm at the range. The only problem is that I have to load my own shells. The original 1887s were chambered for 12 guage 2 1/2 inch shells instead of 2 3/4 . The other is a Winchester 9410. It is in .410 of course. It is my regular camp defense gun in the desert or in the mountains. I believe Mossberg made a .410 Lever gun but they are evidently very hard to find, and dearly priced as a result.
