Just picked up my 930 SPX w/PG yesterday from jail. Cant wait to hit the range. I looked at all the 3 big semi's before I decided on the Mossy. The M4 was the nicest looking and feeling, but that gun has sticker shock. The FN was ok, but the front end felt very heavy. The Mossberg was much lighter and I could see myself shooting longer without getting tired. Mossberg has the most bang for the buck. I know that it had a few issues with QC originally, but those issues have been worked out by now. I compared the Benelli, FN, and Mossberg on the counter at the same time. I definitely think the FN is next on the list.

FTEs, 1 FTF, didn't cycle rounds a couple times, and at one point after you would fire the shell case would be stuck. It took a lot of manpower to get it out.
It was recommended to me that I should take it a part and make sure everything was in good condition. Check to see if there was missing parts, cracks, dents, anything odd. After that I cleaned it up and left a little oil on it. Took it back out and after every shot I would check it out and try to identify the problem. No luck, I then took it to an armorer but he said everything looked fine. So I started buying different types of shells and it still had the same problems no matter what I used.
Eventually I gave up, thinking back I probably should have called Mossberg. I really liked the shotgun though, everything about it was nice. Maybe I'll pick up another one and see if things are different
Mmmmm, sounds like you were limp wristing it, that's all.

My first 930 SPX was a lemon. FTEject and FTF, two trips to Mossberg and they made it right by sending me a new SPX. This second gun is everything you'd expect out of the NRA Gun of the Year. This present gun hasn't hiccuped once with everything from Winchester and Federal 7.5 birdshot from Wal Mart to some 3" Federal 1.5 oz. slugs. Keep it fairly clean and lubed and it should chug right along.
Got the stock adjusted using the shims and the sights are right there under my eye when I shoulder the gun. Benelli S-90A1 is now a safe queen.Larry Renner
