Mossberg 590 or remington 780?

Yea, is the 780 a new budget model from Remington or something?
Just kidding. The Mossberg 500/590 series of shotguns are great. As is the Remington 870. I will not recommend either one over the other. Just go check them both out and see which one fits you best. They each have their own quirks, but you have to play with them to know which one you prefer.

I would say 870 (or 780), whichever you prefer.

+1. I have a 590 and an 870 Wingmaster... neither one is superior to the other in quality or fit and finish in my opinion.Just kidding. The Mossberg 500/590 series of shotguns are great. It mostly depends on personal taste... mostly (Aliens)
Depends on where you like your safety.
The 870 is easier to strip down then the 500 (never messed with a 590)
I think the 590A1 (or some version) has the heavy barrel, which is cool - but I don't believe you can add a heat shield if you ever wanted one.
Some companies make after market products for Mossberg and not Remingtion and vice versa.
I would say an 870 over a 500 any day (unless you got a really good deal on the 500) But I don't know about the 590 vs. the 870 - most gun shop workers and serious shooters I meet prefer the 870 over the 590.
Personally I picked the 870.Comment

Your wrong....You can modify the mossberg heatshield to fit over the larger barrel the 590A1 comes with....I think I saw the instructions on the firing line forums archive....It mostly depends on personal taste... mostly (Aliens)
