Has anyone purchased and or had any experience with this shotgun? They look like a decent quality gun for the price.

I am looking into getting back in to pheasant hunting and trap shooting again, its been 10 years, but I wanted a decent pump action that will not break the bank.

Shot my buddies, for the same price I'd get the Remington 887 if I was choosing a new entry level shotgun for those purposes you stated.

I would probably recommand the Remington 870 Trap. They have been around for a long time and there are millions of them floating around.
Weatheyby markets good guns, but I don't know currently who is making their guns for them.

For sure my first choice for a pump gun would be a wingmaster, but at less then half the price the Weatherby looks attractive. I've looked at the 887 as well but I prefer wood stocks over synthetic.

Look for a used Wingmaster. They don't break !!! They are around 300-400 used. Get one with choke tubes if possible so you can shoot other clay games besides trap. Or even an 1100 !! They are around 400-600. Lots of support and knowledge behind these Remmy's.

I have both, the semi auto and the pump Weatherby shotguns and have had not a single problem with. My semi is set up for coyotes and the pump is for dove and quail. I would stay away from the 887 IMHO they just dont seem to be built that well, thats why I ended up getting the Weatherby. I still have my wingmaster but its been taken a back seat in the safe the last couple of year since I got the PA and SA.

Looks like the Turkish shotguns are making some inroads. I have the Hatsan Escort MP-A that I purchased for 439.00 at Turners. It is a very close cousin of the Fabarm SAT-8. I have been very happy with it for the role that I wanted it to fill. SAT-8's were distributed by Heckler and Koch with a lifetime warranty, so I would have to say the design has some durability. If you go to Legacy Sports website you can download a 5 year warranty for your Escort shotgun. How good customer support or service is remains to be seen. Hope I don't have to find out.
