A pink gun of any kind would be utterly and completely illegal.... at my house.

    My wife hates pink.

Green and Orange are the color's because those are the color's of the, "Less lethal," weapons. The goal of the color is to psychologically have an effect on both the bad guy's and good guy's the when they see those color's. Blue and red are used exclusively for the training weapons and you won't, or shouldn't, ever see them used on any functioning weapon.

It has been my experience when dealing with any sales person in a Nevada Gun shop they like to screw with people from California as much as they can.

If I were you I would buy the gun from someone else, take a picture of the gun and send it to the store attention the manager. Include a nice note explaining why you didn't make the purchase from their store. And if you remember the name of the sales person include it as well as the date and time you were there

Speaking from experience, that causes the sales person to get a lot of heat put on them an you may even get a written apology

I'm sure the OP was planning on having the firearm shipped to his local CA FFL after he purchased the firearm from the NV dealer. It is not illegal to buy a firearm in NV, but it is illegal to take possession of it there and bring it back. Paying for it there and having it shipped to his local dealer is legal.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Hogue makes a pink stock for a Ruger 10/22 and it is not illegal but is just ugly.

Funny thing is, during military testing in WWII, pink was found to be an optimum color for nighttime operations or in the desert.

I think they mean brighter than the average military green...Google image "bright green" to see what I think they are talking about.

Not that this isn't some serious bull-pucky but I think you are ~probably~ okay.

in addition to the color needing to be "bright green", 12020.3 only applies to those people who "for commercial purposes, purchases, sells, manufacturers, ships, transports, distributes, or receives a firearm, distributes, or receives a firearm". Personal possession of a bright green firearm is not a cirme.
