    what can i do?

ok so i know california has some messed up gun laws. i know there things u can and cant put on ur AR. pistols u cant buy. but i wanna know what are the rules form shotguns? i wanna buy either a mossberg 500 or 590. i wanna throw on a collapsable stock on it, probably from mesa tactical, low mount. some dude working at a gun shop told me i couldnt do it. is this true? all so what is the barrel length minimum?

i don't know what gun shop you went to but all gun shops in san diego sell pump shotguns with collapsable stocks on them. you can also purchase ak and ar pistols. you just have to know where to buy them. many threads on calguns on pistols if you search for it.

SLP? isn't that made by FNH? I don't know. Ask the gun shop about it.

Thanks for the flowchart link. An easy way to see what setups are legal.

Pistol grip auto shotgun is fine, just can't have a folding/collaspible stock. It can be a lookalike pinned.

Adding a pistol grip & folding stock to a shotgun:

If it's a Mossberg (or any other US-made) pump-action, you are good to go.

If it's an imported pump-action = Legal IF you make it 922(r) compliant.

                If it's a semi-auto. Pistol grip only = Legal
pistol grip and folding stock = Illegal.

Life can make you do many things, even kiss a man with a runny nose.
