Try the Ithaca 37 and the Browning BPS. They're ambi.

Of course, they don't look tacticool, which makes them way more ubertacticool.

        About this much?

Ok, if it's pitch black maybe you can't see the difference, but with a little moonlight or ambient light? Come on, you can see. Shoot, I walked into my backyard the other night during a full moon and thought the sun had missed a memo and not gone down (and don't tell me ambient light, the power was out).

If it is pitch black, then yah, you won't be able to see the difference, but like I said... what are you doing shooting someone when it's pitch black? Multiple times at that?

Besides, I was just teasin you to defend his color scheme! My 00B and slugs are all Win-X, and they're all shiny red with the slugs brass up at the rear of the saddle.

Different colors work well when there is light yes... (and in my case it's clear vs. red - so it is easy to tell the difference if there is the slightest amount of light)... but then again, thats why I said it's always the back 2 slots that contain slugs in my carrier.

As for in my home... nearly every 20 ft or so... there are those silly 3cent a day, blue LED lights... (keeps me from stepping on the cat, or dog, or kid toys that get left out on a regular basis).

SO... I'm quite sure I'd know what I'm aiming for... not to mention the Great Dane, would be tearing who-ever a new neckline while I'm loading...

It looks like everyone says, brass down....
I guess the only advantage of brass up is that they won't slide out of the carrier.

No.... Thats when you know you need a new carrier. The tension on a carrier slot should properly hold the shell regardless of which direction the brass end is...

If it doesn't get a new carrier.

IMHO. Brass up. Apparently one of this things the cops found during the North Hollywood shoot out. That after all that maneuvering for cover, the brass down shells were missing.

If you are in a situation where you are moving around like crazy the only thing holding the shells in is the friction of the shell holder. At least with brass up gravity will help hold down the shot shell.

As for messing around and trying to keep track of multiple types of ammo?. No thanks, I'll stick with slugs, and load load load till I can't load no mo'. In a fight, I'm not going to have the brain power to figure out by sight/touch which is slug/buck be it light or dark etc. Hell if its dark, I'm gonna use the darkness to run the hell away.

I'm thinking of going with a Mossberg because of the tang mounted safety. Do you have to release your firing grip from the pistol grip to get to the safety?

For myself, slugs brass down cause you can see the "slug" at the top of the shell. Buckshot brass up. But I keep my side sadle carrier filled with slugs and start with the mag tube loaded with buckshot.

I've seen this question asked many times around here... I'm not quite sure what to say...

When doing tactical classes for me it was always: "grab gun, turn safety off, and BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM reload BLAM reload BLAM reload BLAM, house clear, safety back on".

I guess the answer is, I never thought about it. When I get home, I'll walk myself through the tactical drills again... I'm thinking I just used my left thumb on the safety - as I know I kept my right hand in firing grip... but I like I said... I didn't really think about it.

Thats why I bought an 8 round mesa tactical side saddle...Its all aluminum and has an foam/rubber insert in each hole to hold the shell in....Ive tried my hardest to get the shells to slide out and they wont move at all....The sidesaddle was pricey at $64.99 but well worth it....Very nice piece...
