    new 590a1 lemon?

590a1 ftf fte ftf and broken trigger housing .
finally picked up to day, so i head out to the range load up some remington buckshot some federal slugs and bird shot and right off the back its getting stuck (the pump) its failing to eject spent shells failing to lift and feed shells couple failing to fire click no boom tryed several different shells brands all in all was able to shoot 25 rounds. so got home took it apart and found two small parts broken off the rear or the trigger housing. one of the parts was stuck between the reciver and elevator and noticed two areas on the housing were it looks like they broke off. not really sure if i should even bother contacting mossberg or just order a trigger housing from brownwells.
any advice or info would be awsome.

    Thanks in advance

You will get a run a around but they have good customer service overall. They will do what they suppose to do if you demand it. Be nice.

I know this might be a stretch, but have you thought of taking it back to the dealer and let him either replace it or cover the shipping back to Mossberg??

          Just sayin'...

ditto, mines works great and I never had a problem in 2 years of shooting.

Wow! Thats the first I heard of a Mossberg like that. Call the dealer first maybe they will deal with Mossberg or give you another one. If the dealer fails call Mossberg. I have a 590A1 and I barely maintain it except for cleaning the barrel and the action.

                    Contact Mossberg ASAP

When you call Mossberg have your gun's serial number, for some reason it helps them.

Don't be intimidated by shipping your gun off. It's no big deal. FedEx is the easiest and they ship long guns. Mossberg Service will send you (snail or email)a shipping label. I shipped mine back in the Mossberg box.
It should not cost you anything to get your new gun running right.

You can try going back to your Dealer route, but I doubt they will do much about it other than offer to send it back too.

I have a personal relationship now with Mossberg service. I had problems with a new 930 SPX. It took sending it back 3 times and bending the ear of a Sales VP and one of the Service VP's to get satisfaction, but Mossberg came through with shining colors. They replaced the gun and the new SPX is probably my best, first choice, auto loader. My Benelli S90A1 is now a safe queen.

I have 2 590A1's both work great, you appearently got one of the "Monday guns", as I did. Every manufacture lets a lemon out now and then. Remington still doesn't seem to have a handle on the FTExtract issues in the new 870's. A client just bought an 870 and we had problems right out of the box too.

Call Mossberg, take notes on who you speak with and get them to send you a shipping label. Insist on it. There is no reason it should cost you anything to get your new gun (up to two years from purchase) fixed. You will most likely speak with Nora or Joe, they are the two I dealt with most. Jesus G. was the Service VP that finally got my gun replaced.

                    Good Luck.

Sorry to hear that brother. Ironically my cheap Maverick 88 by Mossberg has thus far been pretty amazing. Go figure!

My 590A1 has been subject to my usual mishandling and still runs perfectly.

Yours smells a bit citrus-like though ... so get it fixed under warranty. You ought to be able to take that thing through hell 'n back with nary a hiccup.
