    Beretta A400

    Hey Guys and Gals,

I just purchased a Beretta A400 w/ KO system yesterday. It's my first shotgun and now I am having reservations about my purchase. I plan on using the gun for trap shooting 95% time and duck hunting 5%. My gun is in the 26" barrel length. Should I be ok with this length for my intended purposes? Also does anyone know if it is possible to shorten the stock? The length of pull is about 1/4" too long for me (I have short arms). The gun shop was thinking I could remove the foam recoil pad and replace it with a thinner hard plastic one to shorten the length. Has anyone out there tried this? I shoulder the gun fine and it seems very balanced as is. Am I worrying about too much about this?

    Thanks for the input.

Go shoot it first, you may be too worried but maybe not. Anyway it will be fun shooting it to find out!! I just picked up a used AL 2 with the same barrel, and I am not too tall or have long arms and the stock fits fairly well as is. There are some great experts on this sight but I say if the gun comes to shoulder well and feels balanced you are on the right track.

everything is possible and the barrel and lop is the least of your concerns when it comes to trap and ducks.

as was stated, go out and shoot the gun. don't makle excuses for your missed shots until they happen and even then the barrel and lop are way down the list.

RaiderNation, I've been a lifelong Raider fan and a season ticket holder through the 70's and again since '95-2008 until I moved to Clovis...My name is scribed on the "Wall of Fame" for the original season ticket buyers in 1995.

Great buy and a great shotgun, one you should get a lifetime of use from.

You can buy a smaller gel pad from Beretta. Contact Beretta Customer Support at 1-800-BERETTA for assistance, tell them your concern and they certainly will assist you...make sure you have a good idea about your length of pull. I bought a new Benelli Vinci and knew beforehand that I would need a thinner gel pad for the gun, so I contacted Benelli and bought one before I picked the gun up.
