Maverick 88's are a basic Mossberg 500. All the Mossberg aftermarket stuff would work on the 88. So my vote is the 88.

The NEF pump is patterned after the Rem 870, and most every factory part and aftermarket accessory is a direct swap out. So your decision depends a lot on whether you like the 870 or 500 more, can't be too many opinions about that pair, can there?

BTW, The NEF is a variation of the Norinco/Hawk 982, the main difference being that the shape of the receiver, the difference is not enough to matter when it comes to most all replacement parts or accessories. So unless you really like the squared off look, might as well add the Hawk to your list also, one bonus the Hawk comes with is a set of Ghost Ring Sights. You can often find the 982 at Big5 for $199.

I had a Maverick. From the fore-grip, most shotguns have two rods (actuators?) to move the bolt back. If I had to do it over, I would pick the Mossy that had the two rods. Even though it worked ok, I could see how it strained the mechanism a little.

The Hawk 982 or PP is the best deal for the money and more. The 88 has a sealed mag tube and you have to remove the whole mag tube from the receiver to clean it out or do a spring change. Most end up turning their 88 into a 500 and that cost more money.

Get the one that fits. If both fits, get the one that you like more.
Oh, try not to pay w/ coins, they might refuse it.
