All, let me open a can of worms and ask all of you for your opinion on the best 12 ga autoloader for the money. I am on a working mans salary and cant really afford the high end stuff but have also heard great things about some guns in the $500 range. I have heard good things about the Moss 930. I have had a big 5 moss pump for 25 years and have always enjoyed. I will start at the Moss 930 and let the chat begin! Thanks to all ahead of time. BTW, I would like a syn stock, 23/4 or 3 capability, skeet, birds, defense. Yeah, i know, i want a lot, but i would also not be afraid to add barrels or chokes. Thanks every one.

How about a Rem 1100. Everything is cheap. I shoot one for my skeet comps, and it stop working this past weekend. I took it apart to clean it for the first time in 3 years and its gtg for another 3 years. 3-400 gets you in the door complete, extra barrels can be had for about 1-150 so you dont have to worry about too short or too long. Just get all the barrels you need and you'll still be under 8 bills.
Good luck on your quest !!! The 1100 is available in a 3" version, just make sure the extra barrels are chamber in 3" as well. If you shoot a 3" shell out of a 2 3/4" barrel it could get interesting. The 2 3/4" barrels have bigger gas ports, and it'll let too much gas into the action.
The above was something I cut/paste from the other thread .... Good Luck!! Also you can get a barrel with choke tubes.Wanna learn to shoot SKEET? I am here to introduce all shooters to the sport of SKEET Shooting ....

Some words of wisdom....Buy quality pre-owned in your price range and you will be surprised what a working man can have in the long run.Comment

Saiga is possibly the worse shotgun to choose as a bird hunting shotgun in california. ESPECIALLY california. Cali modified Saigas would be the worse to use for bird hunting. The reloading would be a PITA with a mag lock. Wouldn't be so bad if you could easily remove the mag. I dont think it would be that bad to use but due to the 3 round restriction and the possibility of needing quick reloading and follw up shots a Saiga would never be my choice as a hunting shotgun. I have a saiga 12 and I would never consider it for a hunting shotgun UNLESS im going deer boar or bear hunting and I can load a 8 round mag in it. but my 30-06 takes care of my hunting needs. Saigas are great for mall ninja cool factor but in the neutered Cali way it would not be a go to gun for anything more than just unloading a storm of lead for a few seconds.Last edited by Rob454; 07-10-2010, 6:49 PM.Comment

the rem 1100 is the ALLTIME best selling semi shotgun ever made (est sales of 6 million since early 60's when it was first introduced). it has been sold in multiple versions from field to high grade trap and skeet models.
along with this the amount barrels is virtually endless from 20 inch deer slug barrel to 32 inch trap. it came in .410, 20, 16 and 12.
i have owned as many as 8 at one time and still have 2. this gun can be purchased with real wood furniture used, in top condition all day long for around 4-450. most every decent gunstore will have at least one.
i have nothing against the 930 but it is half the gun the 1100 is.Comment

Save up more money and buy a good shotgun that you will be happy with for many years. The Beretta, Benelli, and Browning are my favorites. Get the 3.5 inch chamber and you will be able to shoot clays, upland birds, and even gese. You could buy a Moss for cheap but you will end up buying again for sure-If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.
