Hi to all . my 1st time on . my brother turn me to this sight . my dad left me this rifle and i was hoping to get a value on this. no sure i will sell it maybe trade. i have multiple guns and dont sure if i want any more . any way model 1897 winchester 16g in very good condition . has model discription on left side slide. any help greatly apreciated. Most 1897's would go between 200-500 depends on condition and rarity. Most 97's are probably in the 300 - 400 range.

A quick flip through on Gunbroker located a bunch of 16 gauge 97's ranging from 250 - 699, but no bids on any of them.

The 16 ga is a shell that hardly anyone use anymore. The Skeet competitions skipped it. You can shoot trap with it. With the 12ga guns being so plantiful there is only a small spot for the 16ga.
