Hehe, it's not select fire (full auto), but yes, it can switch between pump or auto with that little latch under the forearm. Yep, it was in the original 1989 list.

Gee, if you could find out what receiver it used and just add the SPAS parts kit to the non SPAS sporting receiver without the folding stock.....

The SPAS 12 looks really cool, and Hollywood/television likes it for some reason; probably because of the hook. And like another gun Hollywood/television likes, the Desert Eagle, it's big and clumsy and heavy and nobody in law enforcement or military uses it.

but it was a heavy, clunky POS.

When I would take mine out to shoot clay pigeons on mechanical trap, I'd hit 75% or better... consistently. It was actually better on the trap range than my Beretta 1201FP3 Police.

It may have been heavy, and it would not cycle the light loads in semi-auto, but it hit whatever you pointed at...

At first, I was wondering how the statements of "no military unit uses these" could be reconciled with your statement about training with another unit.
