    Old SxS Shotgun Restoration

I've got my great grandfathers' Lefever Nitro that's in sad aesthetic, yet 100% functional condition. Being a 12 ga, it isn't worth a ton of money, but I'd like to get it restored to a level that'll let it last another 80 years. I'm looking for someone that do both cold rust bluing and color case hardening. I don't need it to be a museum piece.

Does anybody know of a good smith that can perform both or have experience with one that performed these services? Doesn't have to be local (SoCal region). In fact, I really doubt there are smiths in the south land that do color case hardening. I'd prefer to have trustworthy and quality over cheap price and local.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    ,.

Art's Gun Shop and Midwest Gunworks are the two I have used in the past. I would call them and discuss the Lefever....I have only done Browning work done with them

I would suggest Run-N-Iron Customizing for your restoration. I've seen some of their work and they are top notch and they do everything from, case hardening, parkerizing, rust blueing and general gunsmithing to high end engraving and finishing. They can do virtually anything and do a lot of work on old classics.
