    Got my first shotgun

I picked up a 1991 Browning Citory 12 gauge 32" over under today. In good shape. Made in Japan. I can't wait to shoot some trap.

Dang, that's a long barrel. I shot a Citori white lightning once with a 26" bbl. That thing was awesome and recoil was not a problem at all.

Yes, I think my Daly (probably same maker as yours, the famed Miroku of Japan) double is 30" but it may be 32" -- I can't remember all of a sudden. My similar Daly single is 34".

Nice first gun. It is a little long but is great.

32" barrels are perfect for Trap...A lot of Sporting Clays shooters are using 32" also. I used 32" for pass shooting geese and ducks.

          Too long for ???

If you wanna get into other clays sports with your gun you could. You can install choke tubes in it and shoot sporting clays and skeet with the same gun. Briley can install both barrel for $399 including 5 chokes.
Wanna learn to shoot SKEET? I am here to introduce all shooters to the sport of SKEET Shooting ....

Well, I'll confess that when it comes to sporting shotguns, I don't know a whole lot. I shoot trap only for fun; can't even hit skeet yet--but I'd like to.

Well, I have shot trap with guns that were 28" and 26" respectively. Perhaps it's subjective, but I prefer the shorter barrel because it's easier to point and move. I honestly didn't know that they used barrels that were almost one yard long for trap/hunting; I guess I never noticed that. But FWIW, I noticed it was easier to hit with the 26", at least for me.

Congrats...although a little long for me, I'm a 26" barrel advocate. The Citori is a proven O/U BUT___it's heavier than a bucket of bolts and if you plan on hunting pheasant or quail where you have to carry it a lot...get a sling. They kick like a mule but the heavy weight will help ease the shoulder bruising just a little bit. ENJOY
