For you guys that might have missed the update in the first post... I got the ribbed forearm and refinished the butt stock and forearm in red mahogany oil finish. Here's the final result... and I'm really loving this look! I never thought a tactical 590 could look so "old school".... just my style.

Now I really want to put wood furniture on my Remington 870, looks amazing!
The "best" handgun caliber debate rages on, meanwhile I just keep buying low recoil 00 buck.

When i see the wood furnishing, it makes me want to mount a 1917 sword bayonet on that shotgun. Anyone know if there is such an attachment?

WOW, OP, the oil rubbed instead of glaze really brings out the natural qualities of the wood! I like it A LOT, and if my mossberg wasn't pretending to be Chaparral foliage I would fully do this!

@ the wood furnitured, bull barreled, c-magged ar15! HOLY CRAP! how cool is that! Never seen anything that looks so menacing.

Notblake.... you're right... after stripping the factory finish, a lot more character came out of that wood. Mossberg uses some serious varnish, though, my stripper barely affected it! I had to ask her to do it again and again. Sorry, couldn't resist. Haha... A fair bit of work to get that finish outta here!

Did you notice that I removed the hump that Mossberg puts on the neck of the stock on their Bantams? That bulb might work for little hands, but I didn't like it, so off it came!

No on topic but man I wish I could afford a pro like you to do the pictures of my AI&P Tactical shotguns for my web site. Yours are some of the best gun pics I have seen. Great pics of good duty quality shotguns.

I've always been a fan of wood stocks on certain guns the mossberg looks great both ways with the wood stock and wood or ribbed foregrip. Not a fan of the wood AR stuff at all though...
