I have a remington 870 handy and I run a 12 LOP hogue stock on it VERY comfortable and handy little stock. I'm wanting to get a PG either a Vindicator or a speedfed for my old beat up 870. I plan on keeping this one on the top shelf of my closet or in the frame rail under my bed as a LAST ditch gun. I also have a glock 17 but Id like to have something small with a boom to stow away. I hear good things about both grips so what say you guys? I know PGO shotguns are not good for combat shotguns or anything but like I said it's a last ditch gun that will probably sit for years to come and get taken out and thrown in the truck for camping or just occasional PG shotgun fun.

I bought a pistol grip Mossberg, and liked it until I shot it. Wow, I could not believe how bad it was to try to aim with.
I put a aftermarket stock with a full stock and a pistol grip and now I can support it with my shoulder and use the pistol grip with my hand.
Lots better. -
I have shot PGO shotguns and I'm not concerned with how it hurts to use as I said It wont be shot much just a beater stow away gun and a PG takes up less space.Comment

I have my 870 set up with a full Speedfeed stock with pistol grip. It can be fired from the shoulder or 'off' the shoulder, but still controlled and accurate at HD distances. Best of both worlds . . .Comment

i have a remington 870P that i recently acquired. i put on a mesa tactical LEO telescopic stock with recoil reducer. Due to a few bouts with broken clavicles i was taken in by the potential of up to 70% recoil reduction. i have yet to try it out and don't know when i will have time to but i'm hoping for the best. i personally like a standard stock but this thing is high quality. bought it from a member here in new condition and once you decide what you want, you can probably find it here as well. good luck with your search....

I havent personally used a speedfeed PG but I have heard its very comfortable and deflects recoil well, having said that I currently have a hogue Tamer PG on my shotgun and love it. It makes my shotgun very wieldy and pretty damn accurate from the hip.Name: Dobalina, Mr.Bob Dobalina

I just picked up a IAC Hawk 982 for $200 @ Big5 and added a Hogue pistol grip with a TacStar forend pistol grip for my travel partner and beater shotty. Its also well hidden my house for easy access in case someone wants to do a B&E and trys to play with my emotions.Comment

Like I said I have used PGO shotguns and it's not as bad as some would think. The distances I'm looking at in my house are pretty easy to just point and shoot. This also wont be a primary HD gun my shotgun is set up just for that...HD remingotn 870 hogue 12LOP,mesa side saddle,sling. It will be stowed away and go on trips every once n awhile in the truck. I don't want to spend to much on a top folder or mesa stock as I said it's just a beater. I have never seen the hogue tamer I'll have to look into that...Comment

Shooting my friend's Mossberg 500 w/PGO (5+1) with Hogue Tamer grip is very easy for me to control, even when holding it up to my shoulder/fact to aim it. No problems hitting targets at 15 yards with either 7.5 birdshot or 00 buckshot. IMO, it's a perfect setup for 'in house' HD purposes when you need to stow it somewhere like a bedroom closet. As long as you're used to shooting it and practice with it enough, so you know how it feels and what to expect when you pull the trigger with a PGO setup, you should be fine. It's no where near as accurate as my old Benelli SuperNova tactical with PG & stalk past 20 yards, but still good for it's intended HD purpose.Comment

Haven't done it yet but IMHO the best Pistol Grip Only shotgun would be the Knoxx "Breachers Grip" with a laser sight. Use the laser to get on target, fire from whatever position you find controllable/comfortable. Possibly use a "Tight" light instead of a laser. Seems to me that if it boresights at In-house range (<10m?) it'll be "close enough" to hit the target.
Not my choice for "hostage" shots. Not a first choice gun to start with. YMMV.

i have a speedfeed pistol grip on my 870, and it shoots like a dream, had a top folder years ago, and shooting that always hurt the web of my hand.That may be a CG first!
