Trap Class was fun fun fun

Whoa. I didn't know trap was something it comes to me naturally (given a lots and lots of handicap!!)

Anyhow, livermore is bit far and wondering if anywhere near me (Oakland) has trap day? Chabot's one seems to me not in use

Rika; Livermore is the best within 50 miles.

Chabot sucks. They use to be good but then all their trap and skeet shooters sued the Chabot Gun Club and they all went to Livermore.
Chabot was forced to close down all the lanes except two and they only shoot once or twice a week.

I tried out trap for the first time, at Chabot this Saturday. I loved it too , once I figured out how to load my model 12. $8 a round is pretty steep though. What shotgun did you use Rikka? I think I'm going to give the range in martinez a try.

Yup - trap can get pretty addicting Chabot is usually open only on the weekends - and only if somebody is there to run it. I've never seen more than 1 lane at a time open. Livermore - is your best option - Tuesday night trap is going to open up pretty soon....

Rika made the instructor shake his head, every time he watched her break clays with his shotgun. She only missed when there was no money at stake. Word to the wise. Dont bet against Rika! She's a natural!

If your looking for a Browning O/U or a Beretta shotgun you should stop by Coyote Valley and check out their walk in vault. Very nice selection and good prices. At times you can find some very nice used shotguns there.

OK, by popular demand here's the info.
the instructor is well known throughout the bay area, his name is George Reppas he usually has people mail him a check and he 'plugs' you into one of his group classes which happen every couple of months during winter, I think he may have monthly group classes during summer. cost is $45/person.
George has a website where you can get his email and phone number info, he answers the phone way faster than email so I'd recommend calling him instead, he also offers private classes. there were 12 students in class and George had 3 assistant instructors with him so it's a 3-1 ratio. He likes to keep classes around that number and if they are filled up, he'll enroll you on the next one. BTW, you won't magically improve unless you are Rika but the tips you get are Great to practice and if you do plan to get serious about it, you will need private lessons, it will pay off in the end.

                          hope this helps you all.

                              Clarification!

The instructor let me shoot from same center position all the time. Its the easiest since the the clay doesn't go sideways! Also it helps my first time doing trap was the class. I haven't developped bad habit. And it was his $$$ gun too.

But now even Ted is buying shotgun, we have a good number to do shooting toegether. More fun

Ivanimal your 20 guage said he likes my place for a while! I will buy one from Andy soon.

Trader Jack How come Chabot sucks? Only thing I need is flying clays and reasonable cost...
