heatshield with ghost ring for a shotgun!

Agreed on the comment that an HD weapon should be bare bones, but he never said it was an HD weapon. If hes shooting a ton of clays or giving it a good workout at the range it could definitely be helpful to him.

A heat shield with ghost ring sights, which is what I understood the original question to be about, wouldn't be of much use on a clays gun. A clays gun would need to be a plain, unribbed barrel for a heat shield to go on it and (my opinion here) wouldn't be a very good sight picture.

My 590 came with a heat sheild but I dont think I have ever really used it. I still like the look though and its nice to know if i have to shoot an entire 100 box of birdshot or what ever quickly, I won't have to worry about burning myself.

I own a 590 as well and I can vouch that the heat shield is rock solid (at least mine was) and does help when you're shooting alot. I have a Knoxx ops recoil reducing stock so when I shoot birdshot I shoot ALOT and the heat shield has come in handy.
