If you look it up on Midway or Cabela's the reviews aren't very good as far as fit and the sights not moving around. It'd probably work ok for the price, but I passed it up.

Most of the trouble seems to be with the Mossberg shogun... or a 410... I have two Remingtons I bought them for; a 1178 tactical and a marine 12 ga... will see... I'll report back when I get them and get them installed...

i would just get a seperate heat shield and then GRS. some adjustable ones, that way you're not screwed entirely when your shot pattern does not match with your sights. even then its iffy

personally i am just about over with GRS on a shotgun. my first 590 SP had GRS and i could never get the darn thing adjusted on target! then my 930 SPX... now with my 590 A1 i am just going with the bead sight.

GRS are for taking longer distance shots. Those non adjustable plastic sights are complete junk and if they are not accurate out of the box, you wont hit crap with a slug at 50 yards. (which GRS are designed to help you do)

You can take of the plastic GRS easily though. I did.

However.... (you knew that was coming), unless you are taking shots longer than 10-15 yards and using slugs, the ghost ring is somewhat unnecessary, IMO. In LE training scenarios I've delivered slugs into tight groups at 25 yards in low light conditions using a plain bead. It's actually pretty easy with just a bit of practice. Brush the bead across the 10 ring and squeeze.

A ghost ring set up has definite advantages in some situations, but none of those situations involve truly close quarters HD type situations. Same applies to full on rifle sights, again strictly IMO. Heat shields do nothing but add weight, I believe.

A fighting shotgun is (or should be) as simple as it can be. A mag extension, if it wasn't a long mag tube from the factory, a light, and some provision for a few extra shells (sidesaddle or Speedfeed stock) and it should be GTG.

Hey, for 20 bucks why not? At the very least you get a heat shield outta the deal. I was looking for one awhile back and must have gotten sidetracked, but Id buy it. As far as ATI as a brand, Im curious too why some people dont care for them...they make good, affordable products as far as Im concerned. Agreed on the comment that an HD weapon should be bare bones, but he never said it was an HD weapon. If hes shooting a ton of clays or giving it a good workout at the range it could definitely be helpful to him.

I use one of these heatshields on my tac shotgun. For plastic fixed sights, they arent that bad. I can tag a 10 x 10 target easily enough at 50 yds. And I dont really care whether or not they're any good beyond that. I really just wanted the heatshield cuz I kept burning my hand during training. The GRS's were just kind of an added bonus

Years ago, when I was younger, I liked the "cool factor" So I bought a top folder for the 12ga. Fit and finish I did not like, too many rough edges. Too much flex in the stock. Pistol grip ergonomics was poor. Over all a POS. I would not recommend ATI's shotgun accessories to any one.

Hogue 12" LOP stock
Some type of side saddle
cdmgear lightmount/slingswivel
TLR-1

Did you try sending it back and giving them a chance to make it right? I never had a problem with them... Everybody has a problem someone I guess... I am in the process of trying to recover my money from a garage that cheated me on my car... oh well such is life...

My 590 came with a heat sheild but I dont think I have ever really used it. I still like the look though and its nice to know if i have to shoot an entire 100 box of birdshot or what ever quickly, I won't have to worry about burning myself.
