Alright...did the cursory search to avoid flames, but cannot find any details around the disassembly of an M1 Super 90 beyond field stripping. Not afraid to get into it but this being my first inertia cycling shotgun I'd like to know what's going on in there before I lose a spring or something. Any tips or web sources you can provide would be helpful, thanks.

Remove barrel clamp, remove cap from mag tube..remove spring and follower,,remove bolt bandle..barrel should slide out and then bolt.
You should never have to go any farther when cleaning...if I missed a step sorry..its been 15yrs since I owned a M1 (Benelli M4 owner )sigpic -
Do what Ding told you. To pull the bolt/carrier out push down on the bolt face pull the bolt handle out. To remove the trigger group knock out the retaining pin push down on the bolt release and wiggle the assembly out. Make sure you push the button when reinstalling.
The bolt group is close to an AR except the FP is spring loaded.I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.Comment

go to the Benelli website and download the M2 Manual...that should cover the M1 dissassembly also.
If I ever stop laughing, I'm dead.

Excellent another non-wasted day. Learned something else! The bolt does disassemble like an AR. And Benelli techs wear suits :-)Larry Renner

Also if you duck hunt or subject the gun stock to submersion in water or a good rain the recoil spring can and will rust which will make you crazy as to why it doesn't cycle until you realize this. It happened to me and the bolt wouldn't close all the way. Now I clean that spring once a year but I use that gun as a tool in all weather.
Phillips head screwdriver into recoil pad. Unscrew the 2 screws. Remove pad. Remove nut with socket set. Then remove nut holding in recoil spring. VERY CAREFULLY on the last few threads so it doesn't launch into space or shoot through your head (ok it won't really do that)..Originally posted by jmonte35Disagree.
