Whittier Narrows / South El Monte Range
Does anyone on this list shoot at the Whittier Narrows range? I coach at the .22LR small bore range across the freeway and have never shot a shotgun, but would like to give it a shot!

Here's the real deal. Trap and skeet are games of repeatable target presentations.
In trap you have one machine that's in front of you. There are 5 shooting stations. The machine oscillates from side to side, but the target always goes away from you. A "round" is 25 birds.
In skeet you have two machines. On the left side of the field is the high house (So called because the machine is above your head in station One). On the right side of the field is the low house (So called because the machine is next to you in station seven). The machines are fixed in this position. There are eight shooting stations. A "round" is 25 birds.
Sporting clays is like golf. Every golf course is different, just like every sporting clays course is different. SC courses can have anywhere from 12 to 24 stations. Every station on the course is different too. A "round" is 50 or 100 birds.
Plus SC courses change their presentations. Some weekly, some monthly, some never. Station One might be a bird from the left, followed by a in comer today, but next week it could be a rabbit, and a teal.
You can have birds that go out, come in, cross, fly low, high, on the ground, over head, under your feet...
