Mossberg 500 Question

Yup pretty much.. Although I donno anywhere that sells mossy 500s with the screw in choke any more... But you can buy a new barrel with it.. Kinda weird.. They come with improved cylinder already anyways..
Also i've herd some comming with one-piece forends which makes you have to buy a new tube assembly to put a aftermarket forend as well.. Donno if thats a common thing now days or what tho..

Mossberg 500s are very reliable. I would try and take yours apart and inspect it for some broken part or dirt or a pebble in th emechanism. Sometimes the grease attracts sand etc. And if you never tookit apart to cleanit its probably a good idea.
Sorry to hear you have problems I have a 500 Home Defender and I never had one problem with it.

To fit the Hogue Tamer forend you need to get a new slide tude assembly. I got a 6 3/4 inch one for 40 bucks online. Plus u will need a Hogue adapter forend nut, look online and get one for 12 bucks. Everything fit perfectly and feels great. Hogue makes some really good stuff.

I love my mossberg 500 big 5 edition. I have put about 2-3 hundred rounds of bird,buck and slug through it with no issues with my safety. And yeah stang all motor is correct about the new action tube. The big5 mossys are made for big5 and are much like the maverick 88's where the slide action is integrated into the slide itself.

Yeah, for the combo barrel kits, you need to get a Havlin slide tube and nut to fit an aftermarket forend. It would be a good idea anyways since the integrated slide looks a little flimsy.

Modified mine with a Compstock Blackhawk Stock, supposedly reduces recoils by 50%, haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Got heatshield, houge forend and Truglo fat bead front sight on it.

I think I'm good to go.
