If your wife needs a shorter LOP buy a shorter solid stock. I think Hogue makes one.

With the push/pull method you can shoot slugs all day without hurting yourself. Stop giving into gimmicks.

Check around and see what the worldclass instructors/operators are using.
Shooting for fun as a hobby is one thing. It doesnt matter if your stuff breaks or underachieves in the field.

If your life depends on it, thats a different story. To each their own. I know what catagory I want to be in.

I've never heard of the "push/pull method" before and didn't find anything useful with a quick Google search. Do you, by any chance, have a link with info on this technique?

I just want to be able to share and change length so knoxx seems to be the only way for now. I like the stock idea, but that would not work for me.

I have a knoxx folder with recoil reducer on my 870. I like it. The insinuation that knoxx fail in the field is ludicrous. I'm sure Officer's around the world would not be using them if they did. The old style shotgun stock is old technology, there is nothing wrong with it, if you want it. There is also nothing wrong with using new technology, that also is a matter for the user to decide.

i do agree. i just need to figure out what can work for me and my wife since switching stocks is not practical. on my own I would stick with bone stock though probably and with side sattle.

You are right, there is 'no pistol grip or fancy stock' in that video... However, there is (at a minimum) a multi-point sling, Surefire forend, and rifle sights. So, this shows that even a world class shotgun instructor like Rob Haught endorses the logic that the basic pump action shotgun can be improved with add-on functional accessories.

If this thread involved bayonets, laser pointers, holographic sights, heat shields, and 12-guage bandoliers then I would understand (to a degree) where this statement was coming from. In fact, I might even understand why you were being so adamant if the OP asked something to the effect of:

"Which accessory will save my life in the event of a home invasion robbery?"

                    or

"Which accessory would be best in case I ever find myself in the middle of a tactical scenario involving a barricaded hostile?"

However, the OP simply asked for feedback on an adjustable length of pull stock (w/ recoil reducing capabilities) versus a basic recoil pad.

Nothing to to do with the gun.
Pistol grips will also interfer with running the shotgun the most effecient way.

And the bead sight is all you need. Forget about the adjustable stuff. It ALL comes loose.

We just had a tiny asian chick shoot 500 rds in 2 days with no issues. She shot slugs and 00. She held her shotgun perfectly.

There was another 240lb guy that was black and blue in his shoulder because he didnt listen. How embarrasing!

I think you are correct in all but a Knoxx is good for people if they also have a short LOP and not all people learn proper technique on shouldering a weapon. I went shooting recently and my bro in law got a huge bruise and complained of the recoil, then i taught his wife how to shoot and properly shoulder the shotgun and she was pumping them out like nothing and not complaining at all. Overall the knoxx stock is helpful with recoil and great for the shortened LOP. Shooting skeet/trap etc is one thing, but a home defense weapon is a whole other thing. You would be suprised how many people dont go shooting often enough to learn proper technique without anybody there to teach them. So if your not out trap shooting, a knoxx would be great for those that dont learn. I have made it a mission to take my wife, kids, family friends shooting as much as i can to teach them proper technique and safety. Its paying off now. I am no expert or tactical trainer nor law enforcement/military etc. I am just a regular dude that has been shooting since i was a kid and I know what works well for me.. I just keep it simple and effective. Nothing fancy, i am not shooting competition, just shooting to consistantly hit my target. AND i totally agree, you do not need sights on a shotgun, i can hit what i want with the simple bead.. I think it does more harm than good with sights.

Length of pull is measured from the face of the trigger to the butt end of the stock. A standard LOP is around 14".
I like a short LOP, I do however, have to modify my strong hand grip. Instead of wrapping my thumb over the top I keep it pointed forward. Your stance should also change with a short LOP. More squared off to the target and a lean forward from the waist. It feels a little awkward at first, but it works for me.

I put a Knoxx Specops on my Winchester 1300 Defender, and it's a huge help in recoil reduction. The adjustable stock is also very helpful when different size people want to shoot the same gun.

My biggest complaint about the Specops is that it has virtually no drop (similar to an AR), due to the inline recoil reduction design. This makes it a less intuitive pointer with stock sights for me. Having a light that's a tight thrower helps, as the patter is centered in the light's spot, but it's not something I'd want to count in in a crisis.

If I scrunch my head way down on the stock, it's better, but that's not optimal for me, and the moving part of the stock is more likely to bash my cheek.

Optics would help this, but mine's not drilled for a mount. It's definitely more enjoyable to shoot with now, especially for lots of rounds, but the loss of pointability makes it a lot less useful as a defense gun, IMO.

It was an accurate pointer with the factory stock.
