Where's the old threads?

-Where do all the old threads go?- (To the tune of "Where have all the flowers gone?")

Do old threads get saved in the archives somewhere?

Example: I was looking for something that was posted in this forum, and there's nothing more than a day or two old in here.

The "Thread count" for Shotgun Discussions says there's 3,536 threads but only 15 show up when I open it.

Another website I frequent (way too much) keeps them for six months, and then prunes them if there's been no activity. What about here?

OK, so I just searched on a "Keyword" and it took me to a thread that's been inactive since 12/30/09, so they're evidently still in there.

Is there a way to see them all so you can scroll through them?

I don't want to keep bumping threads and clutter things up just to keep them active, and I can't always remember a keyword to search on to find something.
