870 model #25077 is the best value for a solid tactical Weapon on the market. It is the Express HD and will serve you well. It comes with the Remington LE two shot extension for a 6+1 capacity. It is a kISS concept defense weapon.

All the so called Tactical model 870's are simply painted Express Models with different mess on them. The Recon is a joke and you are paying for mess that has nothing to do with the function or effectiveness of the weapon.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

okay. that helps since there are so many options for the 870. Now I am trying to figure what benelli to pick from.

You could buy 4 870s plus ammo for the price of a M4.

If you want an M4 buy one (I'd love one) but they just can't be compaired.

okay. so the price would be the variable than to debate not the quality or reliability?

M4s are awesome shotguns but the 870 will serve you well and be totally reliable for 75% less money.

                    how can u compare a $1000+ gun with a $300 gun?

if u can afford a M4... you may as well buy the M4 AND a 870...

M4 is super cool and super fun.... while 870 can be your solid backup...

Well from my prospective Benneli's are cool but you dont have the fear factor that you get when you rack the pump on an 870 or any other pump shotgun. Besides a shotgun shouldnt cost over 500 dollars unless its an O/U and then your paying for a the fancy engraving and wood. If I were to buy a Benneli it would be the M3.

You are really getting out there now. If you are asking for a defense weapon then hands down the 870 pump in any form.

If you want to bust clays for score then get a sporting gun, but if it is just to practice with your defense weapon then it does not matter which one is best for clays. Clay shooting your defense weapon is excellent practice but you are not shooting for score, just trigger time and learning to aquire a target in a matter of nano-seconds.

I have a 870 and a M1. I use to have a M3 but got rid of it because I felt it was to heavy and I always left it in the auto position anyways. Neither will fail you but you should always buy what you really want and that means even if you have to save for a while.

870 and in less than a minute you can change barrels to shoot clays.

true. I agree. I guess money is not too much of an issue. but probably end up buying both in future. lol. for now just looking to get something versatile.
