I don't know about spare parts since they don't sell a parts kit. I did order spare parts to cover that section of parts, should it happen again. Dave Metal Works worked on my Mossberg to cut it down to 21", thread for chokes and install the extended mag tube so there's definitely things you can do to it. The only thing that I haven't seen available is anyone widening and smoothing the loading gate so it doesn't cut up your fingers as much.

Sorry... I would take my benelli m1 over my 590a1 any day of the week... Mossberg is a lot heavier than the benelli which helps with the felt recoil. Extra weight also has its drawbacks too...

well, you'll be able to tell people not to buy benelli from first hand experience now....other than that, not much

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

THe same can be said for a gazillion things.. " I just drove my buddies Corvette, it was just as fast and comfortable as my Porsche.. so why did I pay so much for my porsche??" uhh.. because it's a dang Porsche!! Or, a Benelli in this case.

Or, if you go shoot a $600 AR, and it "feels" as good as your $1500 AR, does that mean you wasted all that money on the expensive one? NO!

I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

no I know a guy who bought a mossburg and it literally jams more than it shoots. It was a cheep model and it was a while ago, maybe they are better now than they used to be. but still its like saying why did I buy this Ferrari when I could have bought a used geo metro.

The cotter pin that holds the shell stop broke and it took about 3 weeks for a replacement so I'm not that impressed with their customer service. But I'd still recommend it for an entry level 3-gun semiauto as long as you get it threaded for chokes and extended mag tube. One thing that the Benelli has for it is the extensibility. There are tons of things you can do toa Benelli to improve its performance.

Im not trying to be a smartbutt, but you would think a $1500+ shotgun should not need any things done to improve its performance. I love benellis and shot an m4, super smooth but the lop was way too long for me and i still think its soo darn expensive for a shotgun. Im sure they are worth the $ but i would figure it should be perfect right out of the box at those prices. I dont like to drop that much more $ into guns after i buy them though. I have heard of guys buying $1200 1911 and then dropping another $1000 into the gun, just to have it jam?? I dont get these prices sometimes.. If i had the $, i guess i would spend it on upgrades also..

Nearly all the big 3 gun guys send their Benellis out for tuning. Benny Hill, Daves Metal Works, etc. Funny how the 1500 doesn't get you a read to race gun.

My 930SPX is going back to Mossberg for the second time. It will not realiabily extract. Now it's failing to fire and the shell stop is allowing shells to jump causing a ...geez I don't know you'd call that malfunction. It's not a double feed, because the first round hasn't cleared the elevator, there's nothing in the chamber, just the shell and a half jammed in the bottom of the receiver. Because it has a solid elevator/carrier you can't even fix it fast like their pump guns. This is the worst Mossberg I've ever owned, it is, I'm sure a rarity, an exception not the rule. But it sure blows.
BTW, Mossberg for the auto, abandoned it's wonderful double extractor system found it's 500 and 590's. Might explain some extraction issues. It is not an ammo issue. It fails to extract with any brand. Buck, bird, slug doesn't matter, it will fail to extract or eject. It is assembled correctly, lubed properly and clean. Just a Lemon. Mossberg is sending me ANOTHER shipping label, I'm going to ask for another gun. They already replaced the barrel and that made it worse.

Yeah Benellis are over priced but unlike Italian cars these don't break. If used for their intended no modifacations are needed.

If you take a stock Corvette to the race track it's going to break something eventually. If you take it to a road course it would corner better with something other than the stock tires or shocks or well you get the picture.

The mods done to the Benellis are to make it easier to use for competition and they do make it more reliable. When you're hunting or shooting clay games you have time to mount the gun and shoot from a conventional position the gun was designed around. You get a max of 3 shots with most birds when hunting and 2 in clay games. We start out with 9 in the gun and in a minute shoot 30 plus rounds. The mods make it easier to do that.

Would I recommend these mods for HD some of them not all of them.

If somebody remembers when the Remmy Competition Master came out I bought one of those and kept it almost a year, during that time I was happyer if the gun ran the entire match than how I finished. I bought a Benelli after that and shoot it 2 to 4 matches a month I used to get in some practice and I've only replaced the mag tube springs and they aren't Benelli. No parts have broken or worn out.

It's light, points well, runs, and doesn't break. That's why you pay so much for a Benelli.

You're welcome to try mine come to a match, mine isn't the trickest around either.

From what I've heard Benelli is a crappy company to deal with but with Brownells handling factory parts who needs to talk with Benelli.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

I have a parkerized Mossberg 590. I like it very very much.

I added a knoxx compstick that came with a Hogue forend grip.

The forend grip that the mossberg comes with is crap - slippery and dinky. The hogue grip improves the feel of the gun enormously. Knoxx Compstock makes it feel very comfortable to shoot all day also.

Ok, I just received my Benelli m4.
I did not shoot it yet (will be done today)
BUT at first glance....it just look FABULOUS (great finish). It feels GREAT in my hands(good balance, light weight, easy loading)

Yes way too much $$$ ....but in 10 years it will feel like a bargain!

                              Cheers!!!
