          You're joking, right?

The military still issues Mossys (not exclusively but still)

          Police use them as well.

          My Mossy is bomb-proof.

          What's UR beef?

If you look at a lot of the side-by-side tests of Mossy 500 and Remmy 870 SGs you'll find that many of them find both SGs to be on par with one another, and many prefer the 500 since the aluminum receiver makes it lighter, and it costs less.

The mossy is a great gun but run 10-15k rounds through it and see which one holds up better.

On that note I'd love to own a 930 SPX.

Yet another gun on my list of what I want to get, but probably will never get around to.

I shoot a 930 for 3-gun and it's been a very good gun. I'm approaching 1000 rounds through it and so far, no serious problems. The cotter pin that holds the shell stop broke and it took about 3 weeks for a replacement so I'm not that impressed with their customer service. But I'd still recommend it for an entry level 3-gun semiauto as long as you get it threaded for chokes and extended mag tube. One thing that the Benelli has for it is the extensibility. There are tons of things you can do toa Benelli to improve its performance.

Based on this, what parts would you reccomend to keep on hand for a 930?

I agree that Mossberg has crappy customer service. Good guns but their customer service really isn't knowledgeable. Also, the won't do any custom work on their firearms. I wish they would take note of Springfield customer service. Springfield's has probably the best customer service in the business.

The only downside I can see to a 930 is that there isn't much long term data on how well it will hold up over time. Rem 870 and Moss 500 have been around for 45 years or so and are both proven to be reliable.
