    The Mossberg is an aluminum receiver. Way less weighty than an 870. That's going to increase your perceived recoil. If I've been handling / firing my 870 Police for a bit and then pick up my Mossberg 500 it's like the difference between a barbell and a little league bat. But I enjoy shooting them both.

    If you want pistol grip only, go for the Knoxx Breacher's Grip. It really works.
